Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Physical Culture and Sports”

This Law regulates public relations in the field of physical culture and sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the legal, economic, and social foundations for the development of mass physical culture, amateur and professional sports.

1) Veteran athlete – a high-level athlete who has completed their sports career; 

2) Best sport – the most developed type of sport; 

3) A set of sports and health-improving activities aimed at overcoming psychological barriers, as well as fostering awareness of the need to contribute personally to the social development of society; 

26) Athlete with disabilities – a person who, due to diseases, injuries, or their consequences, has persistent functional limitations of the body leading to impaired health and restrictions in daily life activities, and who engages in accessible types of sports; 

1. The Paralympic movement, Deaf sport, and Special Olympic movement are aimed at developing physical culture and sports among persons with disabilities, promoting international cooperation in this field, and ensuring participation in the Paralympic Games, Deaflympic Games, and Special Olympics Games. 

2. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, Paralympic, Deaflympic, and Special Olympic sports are developed by public associations in accordance with the charters of relevant international sports organizations and based on their recognition. 

3. Public associations for Paralympic, Deaflympic, and Special Olympic sports form national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan for participation in the Paralympic Games, Deaflympic Games, Special Olympic Games, and other international sports competitions held under the auspices of relevant international sports organizations.
